Three-Phase Induction Motor parts and cross section

  1. The frame - is the supporting structure of the assembly; manufactured of iron, steel, die-cast aluminum, resistant to corrosion and with cooling fins
  2. The lamination core - constructed with magnetic steel plates
  3. The laminated magnetic core - the rotor steel sheets have the same characteristics as the stator steel sheets
  4. End shields
  5. Fan
  6. Fan cover
  7. The shaft - which transmits the mechanical output developed by the motor
  8. The three-phase winding - comprises three equal sets of coils, one set for each phase, forming a balanced three phase system when connected to a three-phase power supply
  9. Terminal box
  10. Terminals
  11. Bearings
  12. Bars and short-circuit rings - are aluminum die castings formed as one piece
